Everyday we get new customers asking us how to avoid buying the non-green banners that just don’t hold up to everyday use. You know what they are talking about. Its the banners that have horrible creases, scratches, edge curl, dull colors, etc. Its the banners that start to fall apart after just one use. Its the banners that have that horrible vinyl smell that gives you headaches if you leave them in car on a hot summer day. They also ask us what are the most sustainable materials we offer. Every expert in the industry will tell you 2-step printing is the superior way to make “green” banners. The experts will also tell you that printing with eco-friendly water-based dyes on to bio-degradable paper and then heat-transferring to recycled fabrics is the best technology and process for sustainability and durability. They will also say printing at 720dpi will get you the highest quality possible. That’s why we chose to use the 2-step process. Just last week, our color consultant told me one of his customers said to him, after he had finished making a printer profile for his UV printer: “It looks OK. I know it doesn’t look as good as the 2-step process”.
